PDF Page Overlay & Backdrop


Overlay 

PDF Page Overlay :  Allows to use a PDF file as an overlay for every pages. Useful for creating effects like printed on colored paper, textured paper, etc. You may use  override PDF link  option to remove the overlay on selected pages. You may create your own PDF overlay files and add to PDF resources to use with this option. Enable overprint or apply multiply blend to make your design overlay compatible.

Setup.. :  Add or remove the overlay PDF files in the overlay selector pop-up menus.

Front Sides :  Select the overlay file for front signature.

Back Sides :  Select the overlay file for back signature if your layout is double sided.

Blending Mode :  Set the blending mode for the overlay file.

Offset X, Y :  Allows to move overlay position horizontally and vertically.

Opacity :  Set the transparency value for the overlay file.

Do Not Show Overlay Preview : I nstead of transparent overlay, preview overlay PDF images as normal. This option will not affect PDF output.

Add White Ground :  Adds a white ground under the page to apply the overlay effect uniformly throughout the page regardless the empty areas in the page. All blending modes behave differently on empty space and white area. If you found any issue in the result, try to add this white option. Make sure the original page does not have any issue with the white background.

Note : ‘ White Ground On PDF Page Box’ option in the options panel also doing the same thing.

Sample output file : With PDF overlay effect. Overlay PDF: Overlay board yellow.pdf, Mode: Multiply, Opacity:100.

Backdrop 

PDF Backdrop :  Enable backdrop PDF behind the page layout. Selected PDF file will be placed behind all other page objects on the signatures.

Setup.. :  Add or remove the backdrop PDF files in the backdrop selector pop-up menus.

Front Sides :  Select the backdrop file for front signature.

Back Sides :  Select the backdrop file for back signature if your layout is double sided.

Offset X, Y :  Allows to move backdrop position horizontally and vertically.


Note :  Color informations for overlay and backdrop files may not be available in some color lists and reports. Adding spot colors or special image formats may cause issues in some RIP softwares.
