Overview
Arabic Genie is the only Arabic word processing utility and Windows Mac Arabic importer for Macintosh and OSX to type and use Arabic text for all softwares, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Macromedia Freehand etc. Arabic Genie exports text for various font types and enables to work easily. Devalipi Arabic Genie supports almost all Arabic fonts currently used on the Mac platform. Arabic Genie can convert Windows Arabic to Mac format to use with graphic applications like Illustrator QuarkXpress Freehand etc. Arabic Genie can compose Arabic text on any Macintosh / Windows without Arabic/Enabled system or without any Arabic Language Kit

Start using Arabic Genie
After Installing Arabic genie, Double click Arabic genie Icon in the install folder (Default location : Application folder) You will find evaluation screen like below,

Click "Demo" for 30 day full functional evaluation or if you
already registered Arabic genie then click "Register" to activate Arabic Genie.

Keyboard Layouts
Arabic Genie support both Arabic and Devalipi Keyboard layouts (for Devalipi Keyboard reference select "File > Reference" Menu - Command 'R') You can change or Set the the default layout through "Preferences" menu (Default layout : Macintosh Arabic)

Online keyboard
Click Online keyboard button to show online keyboard (Mac Arabic Layout) you can type directly on the screen by clicking on the layout, toggle the keyboard with shift key for Shift characters.

Typing
Start typing, type.... , Typ............................e. Now your Arabic Document is ready


Export Text to other Applications
In order to use Arabic text for Desktop publishing and other professional use you need to export it first. Then you can paste into your favorite applications like Quark XPress, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, PageMaker, Word and others ...




Choose a suitable font layout
Select the suitable export option in export menupopup.
DL fonts :16 fonts Included with genie package, Platform independent, works with any application any platform (Windows and Mac).
DL-F fonts: 16 fonts Included with genie package, Flipped DL fonts. Support paragraph text (story text). Platform independent, works with any application that support flipped text. on any platform (Windows and Mac). in order to use flipped fonts you need to flip in graphic applications to set readable.
DevalipiA font: DevalipiA font Included with genie package, works with any application. Paragraph/Story text not supported DevalipiGenie font: DevalipiGenie font Included with genie package, Supports paragraph text (story text). Platform independent, works with any application that support flip horizontal. on any platform (Windows and Mac). in order to use flipped fonts you need to flip in graphic applications to set readable.
AXT fonts: Third party fonts not included with genie. (QuarkXT, Kalimat) Paragraph/Story text not supported
QXT fonts: Third party fonts not included with genie. Support paragraph text (story),works with any application that support flip horizontal. in order to use flipped fonts you need to flip in graphic applications to set readable
PH fonts: Third party fonts not included with genie. Support paragraph text (story),works with any application that support flip horizontal. In order to use flipped fonts you to flip in graphic applications to set readable.

All exported text can use with Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Freehand, Photoshop, Indesign, Pagemaker, CorelDraw, etc...

Importing Documents
Click 'Import' button to import You can Import Windows/Mac documents into genie and exported to all export formats.

Genie only supports import in plain text (.txt, .text ) or Rich Text format (.rtf). if you have the text in Microsoft Word format, then save as plain text (.txt) or rich text format (.rtf)
Click import button to start import

Extra options
Enable / Disable
Enable or Disable Devalipi input. use this option for fine tuning text

Add ligature
Enable or Disable combined characters on export text

Wrap text
Wrap text in given character length . Useful for setting paragraph text in DL AXT and DevalipiA fonts

Paste special
Same as import, instead of selecting a file you can paste text for importing.

System Requirements :
Genie can run on
OSX, System 8.5 upto 9.x

Known issues

Some text from Windows 2000 or Windows XP may not import properly.
Use windows arabic plain text format in Microsoft Word for saving files for Arabic Genie
Text Selection may not display properly on OSX.
